Year's Best Burgundy (Oct 2013). Completely seductive when first poured, this is still going strong two days later, a bright, spicy, lovely Chambolle that offers deep satisfaction. It has the coolness of an earthen well, the dark fruit clean and pure. The scent ha a shape, a sense of uplift, like a porcini pushing up through the underbrush. From a vineyard close to the RN74, on the northern (Morey-St-Denis) side of the village.

Zesty and ripe, but balanced by a solid core of acidity and tannins. Aromas of dried cherry and licorice open to briary plum, toasty sage and cracked pepper flavors.

Good bright red. Musky redcurrant, black cherry, violet, rose petal and sandalwood on the perfumed, elegant nose. Juicy, spicy and intense, with lovely clarity and sappiness to the red berry, cherry and smoky mineral flavors. Very silky Damodes with a long, ripely tannic finish.

Medium red. Expressive aromas of strawberry, earth and game, lifted by a subtle floral element. Broad and rich on the palate, but with good focus to the red fruit and smoky earth flavors. Finishes with substantial dusty but fine-grained tannins and excellent length. Boasts plenty of early sweetness but I'd lay it down for six or seven years.

Elaborate and rich, this wine offers orange, nectarine, honey, vanilla, cream and butterscotch flavors, brightened by zesty acidity.

Supple and graceful, featuring delicate plum, cherry and rose petal flavors shaded by smoky oak. Displays elegant balance and mouthfeel, with a lingering finish.

Offers an enticing smoky oak edge to the supple black cherry, cola and raspberry flavors, maintaining a tight focus and charming delicacy.

Moderately saturated medium red. Slightly liqueur-like aromas of redcurrant, plum, mocha and spicy oak. Not especially complex but thick and vibrant, offering a light touch to its blackberry and spice flavors. Finishes with sweet tannins and very good persistence.

Pale medium-red. Exotic, inviting scents of red cherry, orange zest, truffle and smoky underbrush. Fat, sweet and rich, with a rather animal, syrah-like quality to its dark fruit flavors. Not particularly delineated but there's plenty of substance here, and adequate energy. Finishes with a soft dusting of tannins. This is already fun to dirnk.
