Black plum, smooth, varietal, velvety tannins, expresso, classic merlot, comfort wine to sip in front of a fireplace.
Opulent, hardy and full bodied.
Spice, balance and a long finish
The 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape offers a touch more balance and elegance. Red and black fruits, spice, and floral notes define the nose, and it’s medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced, and has a great finish. Based on 65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and the rest Mourvedre, all destemmed and aged in concrete, drink bottles any time over the coming decade.
Black raspberries, cherries, mulberries, peppery spice, and hints of lavender all emerge from the 2020 Gigondas, a charming, medium-bodied, ripe, incredibly textured Gigondas with tons of character. This wine is a great value, year-in, year-out.
The 2020 Vacqueyras shows the charming, supple, elegant style of the vintage. Red plums, spiced cherries and peppery notes define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, with soft tannins and a good finish. It's not yet bottled, but this will be another charming vintage for this cuvée that's always a good value.
