The 2019 Red Wine 1 1/2 Acre emerges from a tiny biodynamically farmed block at the Raymond property. Black cherry, plum, spice and mocha build as this mid-weight, racy Cabernet shows off its curves. The 2019 is a charmer, as are all these wines.

Alluring aromas of black currant, juicy, black, Bing cherry and mulberry waft easily from the glass. Palate flavours of bramble berry and crème de cassis are juxtaposed with tangy red fruit—red currant and pie cherry providing the Yin and the Yang for this sweet and tang gem. It’s medium-plus bodied and pleasantly textured with satin-smooth mouthfeel and supple and subtle fine-grained tannin. It showcases persistent purity of fruit, deft balance and a lingering mouth-watering finish and aftertaste. Pour with medium-rare flank steak with grilled Portobello mushrooms. 12/7/2021
A rich expression of a coastal wine, this tastes of pear, banana and pie crust, the floral earthy intensity. Tight-grained tannin and oak form around baking-spice and vanilla undertones. Virginie Boone
With a floral entry of jasmine and fennel, this is an earthy, balanced wine with ample complexity and a spicy center of Gravenstein apple and baking spice. The oak is well integrated and present. Virginie Boone
Shades of dark fruit flavors—black cherry and black berry—are accented by floral, mineral and oak spice notes in this smooth red. Ripe, with ample acidity and refined tannins. Fine overall balance and length. Best from 2023 through 2035. 574 cases made, 37 cases imported. — BS
Strikes a wonderful balance between juicy, fresh fruit flavors and chewy, ripe tannins. Offering red licorice, maraschino cherry, dried herb and black tea notes, with spicy tobacco details lingering on the finish. Valdiguié, Charbono, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon. “This wine is richly textured, with hints of fine tannins and succulent red fruits. Wood aged and ripe, this wine is set to mature well. Drink from late 2021. Organic.” - ROGER VOSS
This starts out sleek, evoking macerated cherry, berry, mineral and tobacco flavors. The dense tannins exert themselves on the finish, which is long and complex. Fine balance, but this needs time. Best from 2024 through 2037. 409 cases made, 36 cases imported. — BS
A succulent, sappy red, featuring black cherry, black currant, violet and mineral flavors. There is an intensity and energy that keeps this vibrant on the palate and marshals the long, fruit-filled aftertaste. Drink now through 2033. 490 cases made, 50 cases imported. — BS
Cherry pie flavors are augmented by hints of sweet spices in this lean, sinewy red. Almost viscous, with a dense matrix of tannins underneath. The balance tips to the dry side. Be patient. Best from 2024 through 2035. 170 cases made, 50 cases imported. — BS
