I loved the 2016 1 1/2 Acre Red, a sweetly fruited, medium to full-bodied effort that has incredible charm and personality its red and black fruits, spice, dried flowers, and potpourri-like aromas and flavors. A blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Malbec, 6% each of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, it’s a beautiful wine that will drink well for 15+ years.
  • Winemaking

The grapes underwent an extended maceration and sat on the skins for 27 day before a native fermentation which lends complexity and depth to the wine before being racked to medium toast, French oak barrels for about 19 months of aging.

  • Location

The grapes come from our Raymond estate vineyards, planted meter-by-meter, with all 5 varietals of a classic Bordeaux blend. The vineyards are officially Biodynamic and organic certified.

  • Nose

Opens with alluring aromas of rose petal and fresh golden raspberry with floral notes.

  • Palate

This soft and supple blend emanates baking spice, star anise and notes of an earthy forest floor with a soft white peppery spice finish.
