Score: 91 | January 31, 2024 | Wine Advocate

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon District Collection Oakville does a fine job representing its AVA, with ripe cherries, loamy earth and dried spices all making appearances on the nose. In the mouth, the wine is medium to full-bodied, firmly built and moderately tannic but ripe, with a certain suppleness and savoriness to the finish.

Score: 92 | December 27, 2023 | James Suckling

Refined nose with currants, wild berries, herbs, bark and cloves. Full body with grainy tannins. Powdery texture with a supple core of cherries and a compact, chewy finish. Try after 2025.

Deep, dark chocolate is the hallmark of this wine all the way from the first whiff through a dark chocolate palate and to a cocoa finish. Rich, ripe blueberries, black cherries and a touch of wood smoke all play their part, but the wine’s roasted cacao character dominates, as lavish tannins and a full body expand the mouthfeel.

This has a core of cassis, plum and blackberry fruit flavors held in reserve for now, while hints of smoldering humus, roasted alder and tobacco form a complex frame. A bit burly and toasty in style; cellaring should soften this somewhat. Best from 2023 through 2035. 250 cases made.

Score: 95 | March 10, 2022 | Jeb Dunnuck

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon District Collection Oakville comes from the east of the valley and two separate blocks in the vineyard. It spent 19 months in 41% new French oak. Lots of tobacco, lead pencil, and both cassis and assorted currant-like fruits define the bouquet, and it’s ripe, balanced, and mouth-filling, with velvety tannins. It’s already hard to resist, but it unquestionably has 15+ years of longevity ahead of it. This is classic Oakville goodness.

Raymond's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville is a very pretty, elegant wine. Crushed flowers, mint, spice and sweet red cherry give this understated, aromatic Cabernet tons of character. This is one of the most restrained wines in the range. There is plenty of Oakville charm here.

Deep garnet-purple colored, it charges out of the gate with bold notions of blackcurrant preserves, baked plums and blackberry pie with hints of mocha, black olives, bouquet garni and tar with a waft of Sichuan pepper. The full-bodied palate completely fills the mouth with decadent black fruit preserves flavors, framed by ripe, plush tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long with invigorating herbal sparks. 119 cases were made. -Lisa Perrotti-Brown

Another of the producer’s 100% varietal wines designed to showcase a specific Napa Valley appellation, this one shines in juicy black licorice and dark cherry. Expansive on the palate, it’s bright and minerality-driven, with a flourish of coconut and vanilla on the finish.  — V.B.
