Diamond Mtn. Cabernet Sauvignon Reviews

Score: 95 | December 31, 2022 | Wine Enthusiast

A deep well of dark-fruit flavors grounds this big but well-balanced wine as it laces fine-grained tannins between gorgeous black cherries, black currants and hints of mint and cedar. Smooth on the palate but firm enough to age, this beauty should drink best from 2026.

Score: 92 | October 31, 2022 | Wine Spectator

A lovely beam of creamed raspberry, blueberry and açaí fruit streams through, with a polished structure that lets everything glide through the finish seductively, picking up light anise and sweet bay leaf notes. Drink now through 2035. 88 cases made.

Coming from the northern part of the valley, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon District Collection Diamond Mountain boasts a deep ruby/plum color as well as a vibrant, surprisingly fresh bouquet of blue fruits, cedarwood, tobacco, and iron. Medium to full-bodied and focused, with building, ripe tannins, it shows its mountain origins and will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age. As with all these releases from winemaker Stephanie Putnam, it will have not issues evolving for 15+ years.

Score: 93 | January 1, 2022 | Vinous/Antonio Galloni

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain District is powerful, deep and plush, with a captivating mix of ripe red/purplish fruit and savory hillside nuances that develop over time. Rose petal, lavender, spice and mint linger nicely on the long, articulated finish. The 2019 is beautifully done.
