Pale to medium ruby colored, the 2016 Pinot Noir Van der Kamp Vineyard is softly scented of cola, Earl Grey tea leaves, underbrush, moss-covered bark and eucalyptus with a bright core of cherries and berries and amaro hints. Light-bodied and elegant, it's knit by grainy tannins and refreshing acidity, finishing long and nuanced.
van der Kamp Vineyard Pinot Noir Reviews
Earthy and robust in ripeness and tannin, this is a powerfully concentrated and structured wine, true to its mountain roots. Spice, tea and rhubarb mark its midpalate and complement the bigness of its profile.
Elegant, offering fine-grained flavors of cherry tart and dried raspberry, with well-knit hints of pomegranate. Accents of nutmeg and ground Asian spice emerge on the plush finish. Drink now through 2023.
Exotic Asian spices and moody, brambly black fruit play at the center of this full-bodied vineyard-designate from a high-elevation site. Citrus, fresh-grated nutmeg and bright acidity make for a savory yet completely succulent experience that’ll remain memorable long after the bottle is gone. Editors’ Choice. —V.B.
