Floral, berry and spice aromas and flavors signal this elegant, racy red. Tightens up with bound tannins, but the sweet fruit persists on the lingering aftertaste.  – B.S.

Well-marked by new oak, this leads off with vanilla and toast aromas, followed by cherry and black currant flavors lurking under-neath, marshaled by vivid acidity and embedded, chalky tannins. Hangs together through the lingering aftertaste of fruit and spice.  – B.S.

A pretty, ripe and agreeably fresh nose offers up mostly floral and white-fleshed fruit scents though there is a hint of peach present as well.  There is fine density and a lovely mouth feel to the round yet vibrant middle weight flavors that exude a very fine bead of minerality that adds a touch of lift to the nicely balanced finale.  This is already drinking well but this could be held for a few years first in the interest of developing a bit more overall depth.  89/2017+

A hint of pain grillé is discernable on the refined nose that displays essence of pear, citrus, petrol and soft white florarl aromas. The refinement exhibited by the nose continues onto the textured and attractivley intense medium-bodied flavors that possess a discreet minerality on the balanced, delicious and lingering finish. This forward effort should drink well young.

An openly exotic yet restrained nose features aromas of dried mango, peach, pear, sandalwood and orange pekoe tea. As in the 2013 version, there is outstanding size, weight and intensity to the enveloping broad-shouldered flavors that brim with palate soaking dry extract before culminating in a complex, generous and overtly powerful finish. This is a big impeccably well-balanced Bâtard that should also repay up to a decade's worth of cellar time.
