The 2021 LVE Legend Exclusive Cabernet Sauvignon is a partnership between Raymond Vineyards and John Legend, and the blend includes about 9% Petit Verdot. It has a deep garnet-purple color and charges out of the glass with notes of freshly crushed blackcurrants, juicy blackberries, and boysenberries, leading to hints of menthol, star anise, and dark chocolate. The full-bodied palate is taut and muscular, laden with bright black fruits, with a firm structure of ripe, grainy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing with epic length.
LVE Cabernet Sauvignon Reviews
A rich and creamy fruit-loaded red with dark cherries, dark plums, blackberries and cedar on the nose. Full-bodied with fine, firm tannins. Opulent and generous with a rich core of fruit and spices bringing a vivid character towards the finish. Drink or hold.
John Legend has another hit with this wine produced in collaboration with the Boisset Collection. Fresh, focused black-fruit flavors are deep and concentrated, emphasizing the purity of fruit while adding subtle toasted oak, nutmeg and ginger notes. Blueberries, black cherries and black currants bring a lip-smacking midpalate and lead to a lingering finish. Best 2026–2036. JIM GORDON

Offers an assertive mix of dark berry, licorice, spice, cedary oak and crushed rock flavors, but what stands out on the finish is the sense of elegance and finesse. Drink now through 2027.
Full, rich, concentrated and chewy with notes of cherry, cassis, black licorice, espresso, cedar and campfire.
Full-bodied, concentrated and chocolatey with a wealth of grippy, light-grained and chalky texture and notes of black currant jam, currant leaf and toasted oak. Long, flavorful finish that is simultaneously juicy and drying. Ready-to-drink but will age nicely for seven years or so.
This is singer/songwriter John Legend's inaugural wine project in conjunction with Raymond Vineyards in the Napa Valley. Combining 85% Cabernet Sauvignon with 15% Petit Verdot, it tells a powerful story in thick layers of blackberry cobbler, chocolate and coffee, the tannin and oak integrated and silky smooth. This is a wine of great presence. – V.B.
Pure, rich and graceful, with a charming core of blackberry, currant and oak, this wows with finesse and refinement, hitting the high and low notes with equal comfort. —J.L.
