The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon No. 10 is made of 100% Cabernet aged in 47% new French oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Deep garnet-purple in color, it gives up roasted nuts, mocha, black currants, warm plums and earthy sparks, plus notions of black olives and dried lavender with a waft of tobacco. Full-bodied, the palate is packed with spice-laced fruit, with plush, velvety tannins and great freshness, finishing long and layered.

This is made entirely of Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 64% new French oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Deep garnet-purple in color, it has an exuberant nose of chocolate-covered cherries, cassis and blackberry preserves with suggestions of lavender, cigar boxes and fragrant earth plus a touch of wild sage. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has lovely restraint with understated earthy flavors and a firm, finely grained texture, finishing long and mineral laced.

The 2017 The Surrealist is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Petit Verdot aged in 54% new French oak and bottled without fining or filtration. It has a deep purple-black color and whoa—the nose is ATOMIC—eliciting dynamic scents of stewed plums, crème de cassis, melted chocolate and licorice with gentle wafts of wild sage, camphor, tapenade and rose hip tea. Medium to full-bodied bodied, elegant, refreshing and with a delicately grained texture, the palate is densely packed with tightly wound layers, finishing with fantastic length and depth.

The 2017 Knockout is made up of 61% Petite Sirah and 39% Cabernet Sauvignon. It was aged in 36% new French oak and bottled without fining or filtration. Deep purple-black in color, it needs a little coaxing to unleash the barrage of tightly bound aromas waiting to explode: blackberry pie, blueberry preserves, spice cake, chocolate-covered cherries and star anise with suggestions of raspberry pie, mulberries and a provocative incense perfume. Full-bodied, rich and seductive in the mouth, the palate is not shy on structure, with firm, plush cushioning the long and layered finish.

The 2017 JCB Passion is blended of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc, 9% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot and 5% Malbec. It was aged in 25% new French oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Deep garnet-purple in color, it takes a little coaxing to reveal youthful notes of freshly crushed black cherries, mulberries and red and black plums with hints of candied violets and chocolate mint plus wafts of underbrush and cedar chest. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has wonderful vivacity, elegance and freshness, framed by grainy tannins and finishing on a floral note.

One hundred percent Cabernet Franc aged in 50% new French oak and bottled without fining or filtration, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2017 Cabernet Franc No. 17 delivers a spritely, electrically charged nose of Morello cherries, boysenberries, wild blueberries and warm red currants with a fragrant undercurrent of underbrush, pencil shavings, Ceylon tea, lavender and crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is taut and sturdy with firm, ripe, grainy tannins and loads of savory layers, finishing long and earthy.

Jean-Charles Boisset’s team blends this wine from cinsault, grenache and syrah sourced from vineyards near Montagne St-Victoire. It’s a smooth rosé, with a corn-silk texture and sleek flavors to match. The notes of sage and aloe conjure up a warm, sunny feeling without conferring excess weight.

The 2016 Pinot Noir No. 22 is medium to deep ruby-purple with a gregarious nose of baked blackberry and black cherry with savory notions of cracked black pepper, fried herbs, bay leaf and forest floor with potpourri hints. Medium to full-bodied with a soft, silky texture, it offers concentrated savory fruits, grainy-textured tannins and an evolving finish.

Starting with the 2016 Leopard Red Blend (49% Syrah, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc aged for 20 months in 41% new French oak), this rock star release boasts a saturated purple color as well as a great bouquet of blackberries, currants, crushed rocks, and hints of chocolate. This full-bodied 2016 has fabulous purity, tons of fruit, and a balanced, layered style on the palate. It has two decades of longevity ahead of it.

This is made from 80% Pinot Noir, the remainder Chardonnay, both coming from both the Napa and Sonoma sides of the appellation. Inviting in wild strawberry, it is dry and stony and exuberant in earthy mineral aspects of crushed rock and dried herb.
