Côte de Beaune “Les Pierres Blanches” Reviews

Score: 89 | January 14, 2013 | Burghound
Outstanding Top Value. An exceptionally pretty nose blends floral nuances with red currant and ripe cassis aromas. There is a discreet hint of minerality to the detailed, textured and solidly well-concentrated flavors that possess good complexity on the ever-so-slightly rustic finish that displays fine focus and persistence. This is really quite good for what it is and worth your consideration.

A background note of pain grillé adds to the breadth of the pretty and very fresh aromas of pear, apple and various white flowers. There is equally good freshness to the racy and lightly mineral-inflected flavors that possess plenty of energy on the balanced, agreeably dry and delicious finish.

The 2010 Cotes de Beaune Les Pierres Blanches is flat-out delicious. Crushed rocks, slate, citrus peel and smoke are some of the many notes that flow from this wiry, beautifully articulated white. The 2010 possesses gorgeous length and a long, creamy finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018.

The 2009 Cotes de Beaune Les Pierres Blanches shows good intensity in its dark fruit, smoke and incense. The warm, radiant fruit flows through nicely on the finish in this graceful, mid-weight red. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2019.
Score: 85-88 | February 1, 2011 | Burghound
An exuberantly fruity and mildly exotic nose leads to delicious and easy-to-like middle weight flavors that exhibit a light touch of minerality on the sappy and citrusy finish. This is refreshing as there is good vivacity if limited complexity. (85-88)/now
