The 2010 Pinot Noir Maboroshi Vineyard is one of the first vineyards from which the fog lifts in the early morning. Dark ruby-hued, with notes of root vegetables, earth and berry fruit, this soft, round, voluptuous Pinot is far more sexy in the mouth than I expected. Drink this attractive, lush Pinot Noir over the next 2-3 years.

A moderately high-toned nose features
notes of raspberry, cranberry and red cherry leads to opulent and very rich medium weight flavors that possess noticeable
mid-palate sweetness that is contrasted against a slightly odd finish that displays an unusual sweet/dry/bitter character. In this
case it is less pronounced than in the Thornton but it’s present all the same.

Though DeLoach's Lake County Zinfandel-- a regular in the producer's line-up of prominent wines-- is a departure of form in its big boned nature, it is entirely in keeping with its sister wines in terms of balance. Fragrant and spicy, with a depth of blackberry fruit, the finish is long and satisfying. This is a fine food-pairing with wine. - VB

Smooth and concentrated with a magnificent core of raspberry, wild berry, blackberry and pomegranate flavors that all come together perfectly on a spicy, lengthy finish; great value.

Editor's Choice. Online Exclusive. Easy to like for its ripe fruit, cola, spice and meaty flavors. This is DeLoach's basic Zinfandel, and it's very good due to the balance that makes it so drinkable.
