A potpourri of spices, herbs and black tea fill the aroma of this complex, oaky and full-bodied wine. Wood char, cinnamon and cloves meet dark plums, black cherries and a touch of spicy ginger.

The wine itself is bright and gracious enough to rise above its oaken riches, focusing instead on the scent of hng game, with high-toned cherry scents lasting in a way that would accommodate meaty-stuffed cabbage or a roast pork chop with crisp cracklings at the edges. - J.G.
From the Boisset Collection, the 2018 Chardonnay Estate was made with certified organic and biodynamic grapes. The nose is open-knit with aromas of warm apple, toast, cheese rind and roasted almonds with savory undertones. Medium ruby-purple in color, the 2015 Pinot Noir Les Parcelles Cacheés Estate Vineyard is a little broody to begin, offering peeks at crushed black cherries, dark chocolate and red currant notes plus hints of wild thyme, damp soil, mossy bark and garrigue. Medium-bodied, delicately fruited and with chewy tannins, it features great freshness and a very earthy finish.
The 2015 Zinfandel Saitone Ranch is medium garnet-purple colored and boldly scented of raspberry preserves, spice cake and prunes with suggestions of Indian spices, dusty soil and tobacco. Full-bodied, packed with spicy dried berry flavors and supported with chewy tannins, it has a crisp line of acid nicely lifting the pruney notions on the finish.
The 2015 Chardonnay O.F.S. reveals notes of freshly shaved ginger, marzipan and pie crust over a core of spiced pears, Golden Delicious apples and honeydew melon. Medium to full-bodied, it features spice-laced apple and pear flavors with a pleasantly oily texture and an invigorating finish.
The 2015 Zinfandel Rue Vineyard is medium to deep garnet-purple with a nose of baked raspberries, blackberry compote and blueberry pie notions with touches of Chinese five spice, hoisin, black olives and fragrant earth. Full-bodied, richly fruited and very spicy in the mouth, the dried berry flavors are framed by chewy tannins and a tart line of acid, finishing on a fruitcake note.
Tight and zesty, with a vibrant core of wild berry and blackberry flavors, touches of spice and accents of wild rose and gravelly earth, all adding up to a complex offering. –JL
There’s a freshness to this wine. It’s supple and fine grained with pear and citrus fruit, showing good balance. Refined and fruit-driven with good acidity.
