Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2021 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon needs a little shaking and swirling to unlock notes of creme de cassis, blueberry compote, and juicy blackberries opening out to fragrant notes of candied violets, chocolate box, and menthol. The full-bodied palate has a fantastic backbone of freshness and firm, ripe, grainy tannins to support the muscular fruit, finishing long and energetic.
Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Reviews
This deep, dusky wine tastes authentic and varietally true. It offers savory black olives and black pepper along with lots of black cherries and dark plums on a moderately tannic texture and full body. The wine’s concentration and balance are outstanding.
Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve has a pronounced nose of crème de cassis, warm black plums and mulberries with suggestions of cloves, violets and dried Mediterranean herbs plus a waft of pencil lead. Full-bodied and jam-packed with black fruit, herbs and spicy layers, it has a firm line of grainy tannins and tons of freshness, finishing long and perfumed.
The strong cedary presence throughout adds structure, flavor and dimension, lending a lead pencil edge to the taut dark berry, currant and olive notes.
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve is scented of black currents, black plums, blueberries and cedar with a hint of sandalwood. Full-bodied in the mouth, it delivers tons of muscular fruit with a firm backbone of grainy tannins and good length. Still very youthful, it needs another 4 to 6 years to enter its drinking window.
A supple, charming style, with smooth tannins leading to a mix of gravel- and fresh earth-scented plum, blackberry, licorice and road tar notes. Ends with subtle flavor nuances of mocha and baking spices. Drink now through 2026.
