The 2019 Chateau Buena Vista Cabernet Sauvignon St. Helena, with 10% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot in the blend, is deep garnet-purple in color. It tumbles from the glass with notes of blackcurrant pastilles, juicy black cherries, and mulberries with wafts of wild sage, violets, and forest floor. The medium to full-bodied palate is firm and grainy, with loads of earthy accents complementing the black fruits, finishing earthy.

Sleek and reserved, with a gently polished edge to the core of damson plum, cherry paste and raspberry coulis flavors, all laced with hints of sandalwood and red tea. Shows a subtle mineral hint through the graceful finish. Drink now through 2032. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 400 cases made.

Fragrant aromas of blackcurrants, walnuts, wet stones, black cherries and bark. Full-bodied with silky tannins. Supple and elegant, with lovely definition and subtle length. Refined. Concentrated, but not weighed down nor heavy. Terrific. Best after 2024 and onwards.
