At DeLoach Vineyards we strive to produce distinctive wines that highlight unique terroirs in a socially and environmentally responsible way, practicing sustainable viticulture and minimally intrusive winemaking. The fruit for this Pinot Noir was grown in a cool climate, allowing the grapes to ripen over an extended season to develop concentrated flavors. We selected fruit from some of the finest vineyards in the Russian River Valley, including the BCD, Starkey, Maboroshi, Pennacchio and Boriolo Vineyards.
After the grapes for this OFS Pinot Noir were hand-harvested and cluster sorted, we fermented them in small oak vats with native yeasts. The wine was gently basket-pressed and aged in 100% French oak barrels, which we hand-selected prior to blending, for 15 months prior to bottling.
The wine opens with ripe, red fruit aromas that lead seamlessly into striking flavors of raspberry, cherry, red currant and just a hint of sautéed wild mushrooms. With balanced acidity and a silky texture, this is a wine that is immediately enjoyable but sure to provide the palate pleasure for years to come.
