Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru “Clos de Thorey” Monopole Reviews

Score: 91 | June 30, 2015 | Wine Spectator

This is expressive, boasting black cherry, raspberry, spice and kirsch notes. Firm ending with a lingering hint of sweet fruit and spice. Knits all the elements together nicely.  – B.S.

Score: 91-93 | January 1, 2015 | Vinous/Antonio Galloni

Subdued but very pure aromas of black fruits. Juicy, crunchy and intense in the mouth, with a salty complexity to the flavors of black raspberry and red licorice. Finishes very long, with fine-grained tannins and a sappy flavor of black cherry. This is Vincent's second vintage for this wine, which comes from vines that face southeast but also benefit from the cooling influence of the Combe de la Serrée.

A fresh, spicy, elegant and cool nose exhibitsonly a hint of sauvage on the lightly earth-inflected and attractively layered red berry fruit aromas. There is an equally refined mouth feel to the delicious middle weight flavors that possess both soil and mineral tones on the balanced and firm but not rustic finale. I quite like this as it combines power with refinement.
