Palate
Our LVE Chardonnay is fruit forward and balanced, delivering aromas of honeydew melon, toasted hazelnut and crème brulée. Seductive and rich texture on the palate, flavors of vanilla crème and toasty oak are balanced with a touch of baking spices and the creamy, rounded mouthfeel leads to a vibrant finish.

Winemaking
A mix of Old Wente and Clone 15, the fruit for our Chardonnay comes from three blocks from a single vineyard in Carneros on mostly clay loam soils. The Chardonnay in the Carneros region is more broad and rich across the palate. The area is foggy and windy which delays ripening so the fruit will come in later with a higher acidity. The wine was 100% barrel fermented in a mix of Francois Frere, Saury and Seguin Moreau French oak barrels – 38% new – for 11 months before bottling. The wine went through 100% malolactic fermentation with a mix of native and inoculated ferments.
