Bright and overt in feel, with a nice welcoming blast of açaí berry, plum and blackberry fruit that has melded nicely with hints of alder, sassafras and bay leaf. Shows good energy throughout, with enough grip to cellar short-term. Best from 2021 through 2028. — JM

In February 2019, winemaker Stephanie Putnam and proprietor Jean-Charles Boisset hosted the ninth annual blending session with 13 sommeliers to create this on-premise only offering. It is a blend of 53% Lake County, 30% Napa County and 17% Sonoma County fruit. Medium garnet-purple in color, it leaps from the glass with vibrant red and black currant scents, followed by hints of dark chocolate-covered cherries, raspberry coulis, bouquet garni and pencil shavings with a waft of rose hip tea. The medium to full-bodied palate is soft, juicy and refreshing, adding loads of savory sparks to the suggestions on the nose, finishing long and mineral laced. It is a very different, accessible, savory-led expression of Northern California Cabernet and I love it! -Lisa Perrotti-Brown

Nicely packed with loganberry, raspberry and plum compote flavors, this pumps along with extra anise, bay leaf, fruitcake and roasted apple wood notes filling behind. The long finish has well-buried grip, letting the fruit play out. Best from 2022 through 2032. — JM

A mix of menthol, sassafras and bay leaf notes lead off, then slowly meld into the core of gently mulled plum and blackberry flavors. Racy acidity teams with strident tannins to drive the finish, showing energy and cut. Impressive. Best from 2022 through 2034. — JM

Polished and ripe, with alluring cassis and mulled plum fruit flavors gliding atop a polished structure, with subtle alder, violet and loam accents filtering through as well. A stylish Cabernet, with some latent depth and grip in reserve. Best from 2021 through 2031. — JM

From dry-farmed, century-old vines, this wine is richly ripe in plum and black cherry, with a hot and heavy presence tempered by a lift of acidity. Dusty tannin and tobacco ride out the finish.
