Though DeLoach's Lake County Zinfandel-- a regular in the producer's line-up of prominent wines-- is a departure of form in its big boned nature, it is entirely in keeping with its sister wines in terms of balance. Fragrant and spicy, with a depth of blackberry fruit, the finish is long and satisfying. This is a fine food-pairing with wine. - VB

The aromas of ripe berry, cola, cedar and fresh earth are moderately rich, with a smoky edge, maintaining a delicate balance through the finish. Drink now through 2019. 592 cases made. –JL

Excellent: ripely flavored (blackberry, berry jam), full bodied, and lightly oaky in style; a Zin with good balance and a long finish, tasting of blackberry, plum, spicy oak, and vanilla. Great value.

Zesty and ripe, but balanced by a solid core of acidity and tannins. Aromas of dried cherry and licorice open to briary plum, toasty sage and cracked pepper flavors. For those who like them soft and jammy. - T.F.
