Reduced in matchstick aromas that compel and blow off, this is a wellintegrated white from a great site, the fruit and oak combining to great effect. Big flavors of anise and pear build around a concentration of full-bodied lushness and lasting texture.

Shades of dried fruit rise on the palate of this substantially textured yet wellintegrated wine. Sizzling acidity freshens the concentrated full-fruited palate, while the that finish reveals black pepper and cigar accents. Editors’ Choice.

This is a well-made, well-integrated showcase of the appellation, with crisp flavors of apple, ginger and Asian pear. Hearty in texture and style, it has a lasting bite of anise on the full-bodied finish.

This full-bodied barrel-fermented wine is bold in flavor, rich in texture and showing a plethora of complex and delicious oak and spice flavors. Nutmeg, toasted almond, baked pears and vanilla coat the palate and linger on the finish, while the luxurious texture is nicely balanced by moderate acidity.

Juicy in strawberry and cherry, both thickly concentrated in flavor and richness, this is a bright, complex and tasty wine from the great site, which confounds with secondary characteristics of barbecue meat, char and vanilla bean.

Juicy, broad and thick, this red is nonetheless brightened by nervy acidity and tart tangled flavors of cherry and blackberry. Integrated and soft in texture, it delights in its earthy, savory elements of black pepper, mint and leather that contrast well against the fruit.

This comes from a well-known, historic old-vine site in the heart of the appellation’s Olivet Bench. Brawny in black fruit, leather and earthy grit, it shows a juicy midpalate of bright acidity that tempers its robustly ripe and rich tendencies.

Raisin, plum and cherry contrast against tart red currant in this “finest selection” from the producer. Juicy and broadly approachable, it has a likable thread of acidity that punctures through the hearty rich fruit and leathery texture.

The heady perfume of oak dominates in the nose of this wine, made in a voluptuous, rich and full-bodied style. Apple, pear and melon dance around a core of well-integrated body and texture, which finds balance within the density and concentration.

A stinky nose of sulfur, earth and egg and flavors of black cherry, blackberry and violet are enhanced by bracing acidity. Plush and toasty, with a clean, spice-tinged finish. Give this time to integrate. Best from 2023 through 2036.
