Mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2019 Tarot comes from a mix of valley floor sites and was raised in mostly neutral French oak. It's a smoking value and offers lots of sweet red and black fruits, notes of herbes de Provence and spice, medium body, ripe, soft tannins, and outstanding length. It's not going to make terribly old bones, but this beauty will put a smile on your face any time over the coming 7-8 years, if not longer.

Rich, luscious aromas of mocha, bramble berry, ripe Bing cherry and mineral notes waft easily from the glass. It envelops the palate with of surge of pure ambrosia made up of dried cherry/berry fruit, black plum compote, mulberry and crème de cassis. This glides over the palate with good texture, good mouthfeel and plenty of charm and appeal. This is medium-full bodied and showcases fine-grained, polished tannin that gives structure and body to the wine. Pour with a premium cut of beef or lamb, grilled medium-rare. 12/7/21

I always like this cuvée and the 2018 Tarot is no exception. It’s also a terrific value. Based on 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot, and the balance Merlot and Cabernet Franc, it has a great, perfumed nose of red and black fruits, toasted spices, dried herbs, and chocolate. This carries to a medium to full-bodied, silky, nicely balanced 2018 red blend that’s ideal for enjoying over the coming 7-8 years or so.

From Napa Valley, a concentrated and juicy blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, of which a portion is aged in new French oak barriques. Dark ruby in the glass with cassis, liquid blueberry, earthy florals, cedar spice and smoky vanilla flavours on the palate. Tannins are fine and velvety. Drink or hold.

Composed of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, the deep garnet-purple colored 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Tarot offers notes of minted black cherries, blackcurrant pastilles and redcurrant jelly with hints of potpourri, fallen leaves and cedar chest. The full-bodied palate is chock-full of black fruit preserves with loads of spicy sparks and a firm, grainy texture, finishing long with a display of invigorating sparks. 1,459 cases were made. -Lisa Perrotti-Brown
