This is a beautiful, ample white made from 80-year-old vines. There are toasty top notes from the 100% new oak (transferred to stainless steel after eight months) along with crunchy orchard fruit, ripe citrus and lemon butter. This is super stylish!

For a Chambolle, this is rather robust and ripe with mulberries and blueberries galore. The flashy new oak is more obvious here than on the other Premier Crus. Still, it is well-placed thanks to the concentrated fruit core. It just needs a year or two to settle in. The sassy acidity nicely cleans up the earthy, spicy finish.

This is the fourth edition in the hands of GrégoryPatriat, and this is the first that he is truly proud of. It is the only white Grand Cru here. There are only 600 bottles, so be on the look out! It is a fine example, indeed, as it shows the aromatic complexity and the robust power this Grand Cru should have. The nose is overt with spicy, floral intrigue, and the palate is layered with toasted almonds, baking spices, guava and star fruit. It is a whirlwind of flavor!

Score: 95 | February 1, 2023 | TimAtkin.com

Grégory Patriat gets to harvest the fruit here as he knows the chef de culture well; it's his brother-in-law. This is archetypal Clos de Vougeot with ample spice, earth and sandalwood along with bushels of ripe black plums. Vinous and forward, this is almost ready to enjoy.

Score: 95 | February 1, 2023 | TimAtkin.com

This is the second year Grégoryhas sent his own harvesting team to pick the grapes from these 70-year-old vines. He then cajoles and nurtures it in the cellar because, like the Beaune Grèves, this can become a commanding wine. Indeed, there is the grandeur one might expect of this top NuitsPremier Cru, but there isn't the rusticity that can also be present. The tannins are slightly gruff but nicely meshed into the generously ripe mid-palate, and the integrated acidity doesn't over-emphasize the mid-palate tug.

This is the oldest contract chez Boisset, which has been in place since 2002. They only make 900 bottles, but it's worth trying to get your hands on one. The nose starts with violets and balsamic before the palate follows with peak-season black cherries. This is vigorous and super-charged, so don't plan on opening it for the first eight or nine years.

Attractive almond aroma. Slim, straight, and savory, with piquant acidity and sappiness. Good energy and intension. A touch of tannin on the finish. What’s not to like? Snappy, white Fixin. Spot-on. - Sarah Marsh

Cask sample. Transparent crimson. Just a slightly raw note on the nose. Sweetness and life and real transparency.

Organic and already bottled. Rather opulent for a 2021 Hautes-Côtes! Nice wine with really refreshing fluidity. A note of green vegetation but quite enough fruit. Could be GV?

So different from a Chardonnay! Much rounder and plumper with more obvious perfume. Flattering and almost as though there were a little RS. But no shortage of compensating acidity.

Cask sample. Aromatic. Lots of energy. Solid and savory and embryonic. Nice graininess of tannins.

Cask sample. Pale crimson. Hint of violets on the nose. Really rather complex for a village wine. Pure and fresh and utterly delightful. I do hope this style is retained into the bottle. Just what you want of a relatively early-drinking red burgundy.

This is a first release from Jean-Claude Boisset, bottled early to preserve its freshness and perfume. Sourced from a parcel of 45-year-old vines and fermented with 50% whole bunches, it has earthy, forest floor aromas with notes of fresh tobacco and pepper spice. A tame and approachable Corton with fine, caressing tannins.

Score: 93 | March 20, 2018 | Wine Spectator

Laced with violet and black currant aromas and flavors, this is silky and elegant. A firm backbone of acidity and tannins lends support and spice. Mineral and smoke accents emerge on the finish. The aftertaste goes on and on.

Score: 93 | March 20, 2018 | Wine Spectator

Already showing notes of game and decaying fruit, in the best sense, this delivers macerated cherry, plum, animal, licorice and woodsy flavors. Stony and chalky on the finish, with a lingering aftertaste of fruit, licorice, earth and chalky mineral.

This is a floral wine, ripe and creamy. It has spice and toast from wood aging along with good acidity and impressiver richness. The wine is full-bodied, spicy, full of yellow and pear fruits.

A pure, racy red, featuring cherry, strawberry and mineral flavors allied to an elegant profile and a silky texture. Finishes fresh and long. Decant if you must drink now.

Expressive, offering aromas and flavors of cherry, currant, earth, mineral and sweet burning vine cuttings. Features a firm backbone and a chalky feel on the finish.

Score: 88 | April 13, 2015 | Burghound

Initially there is a mild trace of reduction but 5 minutes of air is all that’s required to clean it up and in the process to reveal a mix of dark berry, black cherry and violet scents. There is good volume and an attractive mouth feel to the delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess solid complexity on the lingering finish. This is a bolder style of Chambolle but what it lacks in finesse it makes up for in character. A good if not excellent villages that could be enjoyed young if desired thanks to the fine density of the mid-palate.

From a bio-dynamic vineyard showing citrusy fruit, lots of energy and character.

Score: 92 | October 1, 2014 | Wine & Spirits

Corseted by oak, this is a full-bore, generous wine for the vineyard, but as the black-walnut scent of oak dissipates with air, a complex and layered Vosne-Romanee begins to emerge. The fruit feels plump in the center, surrounded by oak and touches of Brett. But there's air in the tannins and the fruit, allowing some transparency, predicting the elegance this may attain with age.

A smoky, nutty, crowd-pleasing chardonnay, this is warm and creamy with some greenness to the flavors. The soft structure makes it an easy aperitif.
