Gevrey-Chambertin “Les Murots” Reviews

Score: 94 | February 1, 2019 | Wine Spectator

Beautifully balanced, exhibiting cherry, strawberry, floral and mineral flavors. Elegant and taut, with terrific length and a touch of oak spice on the finish. Best from 2022 through 2038.

Score: 93 | March 20, 2018 | Wine Spectator

Already showing notes of game and decaying fruit, in the best sense, this delivers macerated cherry, plum, animal, licorice and woodsy flavors. Stony and chalky on the finish, with a lingering aftertaste of fruit, licorice, earth and chalky mineral.

Score: 91 | February 18, 2018 | Wine Enthusiast

This dense and tannic wine, from the lower slope of the village, is firm and solid. It has a powerful core of tannins as well as rich black fruits that are developing behind the structure. Concentration and dryness mean the wine needs to age, so drink from 2021.

Score: 92 | May 31, 2017 | Wine Spectator

A powerful red, whose broad-shouldered frame encompasses black cherry, blackberry, spice and tobacco flavors. Shows plenty of grip on the long finish, yet the tannins are refined and the lasting impression is of sweet fruit and spice.
