This coastal wine has a feral element of exotic fruit, rhubarb and blood orange mostly, with touches of rose petal around its edges. Silky smooth and unabashedly ripe and full bodied, it has an underlying freshness of lively acidity and integration.
JCB by Jean-Charles Boisset Reviews
Sweet rose petal opens the nose of this intensely ripe wine, seductive in layers of soft integrated oak and tannin. The flavors veer into strawberry, cherry and orange, with an underlying brightness that helps balance out the bold.
The 2015 Pinot Noir No. 6 is pale to medium ruby-purple in color and scented of wild cherries, mulberries and cinnamon stick with touches of garrigue, lavender and fallen leaves. The palate is medium to full-bodied with firm, ripe, grainy tannins framing the spicy fruit, finishing with great length and depth.
The 2015 No. 10 is one of the more polished wines in the range. The No. 10 isn't quite as flamboyant as some other wines in the range, but it more than makes up for that with its persistence and shapely feel. Sweet red cherry, pomegranate and bright floral notes are some of the signatures.
The 2015 No. 1 is dark, plush and inviting. Succulent dark cherry, plum, mocha and sweet spice all flesh out in this racy, voluptuous Cabernet Sauvignon from Jean-Charles Boisset.
A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot, the deep garnet-purple colored 2015 JCB Passion Proprietary Red opens with a crème de cassis, char-grilled meat, garrigue and sautéed herbs-scented nose with notions of Indian spices, pepper and potpourri plus a touch of yeast extract. The medium-bodied palate is elegant, fresh, floral and finely textured, finishing long with some spices coming through. 1,468 cases were made.
Excellent, Highly Recommended.
The wine is practically incandescent in the glass, with a pale rose color and notes of flowers and citrus on the nose. Integrated fruit flavors create a creamy mouthfeel, with hints of pamplemousse, mango skins, and subtle elderflower. A clean finish with minerality.
