N°81 Chardonnay Reviews

Plush and juicy, with focused apple pastry and pear tart flavors that feature plenty of buttery notes. Offers a creamy and well-spiced finish. Drink now through 2022.

The heady perfume of oak dominates in the nose of this wine, made in a voluptuous, rich and full-bodied style. Apple, pear and melon dance around a core of well-integrated body and texture, which finds balance within the density and concentration.

The 2014 Chardonnay No. 81 is scented of ripe apples and peaches with hints of cedar, baking bread, marzipan and ginger. Medium to full-bodied and silken textured, it offers a great concentration of clean, ripe stone fruit flavors with some savory characters coming thorough on the long finish.

The 2013 Chardonnay No. 81 from Sonoma Coast is a more steely, mineral-laced Chardonnay that tastes like a grand cru Chablis, with loads of crushed rock, white currant and quince. This full-bodied Chardonnay is a dead ringer for a grand cru Burgundy. It is gorgeous and reserved, but intense at the same time.
