DeLoach Vineyards Reviews
The 2014 Chardonnay Hawk Hill Vineyard has a tropical fruit nose of guava and pineapple with suggestions of cedar, brioche, butterscotch and praline. Full-bodied, rich and seductively creamy in the mouth, it offers mouth-filling tropical and savory flavors with a lively backbone and great length.
Pale to medium ruby in color, the 2014 Pinot Noir Pennacchio Vineyard offers a delicate floral perfume of roses and violets over cranberries, pomegranate and rhubarb notes plus a waft of forest floor. Medium-bodied, the palate possesses great elegance and poise with soft, silky tannins texturing the understated red berry and earth flavors, finishing with an herbal lift.
Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, the 2014 Pinot Noir Maboroshi Vineyard has an earthy nose of fallen leaves and mossy bark over a core of red currants and raspberry leaves, plus a hint of black pepper. Medium-bodied with a fine, firm texture of grainy tannins and lively acid to frame the youthful red berry and earth flavors, it finishes with great length and depth.
The 2014 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard opens with white peach, spiced apples and green guava notes, plus underlying brioche and candied ginger hints. Medium-bodied, it has mouth-filling stone fruit and toasty flavors, with a satiny texture and racy line of acid, finishing with very good persistence.
This impressive wine is made in larger quantities than many of the producer’s single-vineyard designates, sourced from throughout the appellation. It shines in spritzy, vibrant acidity that supports a medium-bodied frame of lemon zest, kumquat and plenty of length, dotted in touches of nutmeg.
This vineyard-designate from a lovely, coastal site imparts flavors and aromas of golden and green apple along with noticeably juicy apricot and peach. Light bodied, it shows an exuberance of fruit alongside notable minerality and a slight hint of sea spray.
Mid-weight and supple with notes of cranberry, raspberry, fresh thyme, cedar, clove and root beer. Exceptional Value.
