Score: 91 | July 9, 2014 | Wine Spectator

Creamy, offering a smooth mix of red and black fruits and spice, anise, black licorice and subtle earth notes, with mushroom and forest floor accents. Ends with fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2022.—J.L.

Enticing, with zesty blackberry and wild berry scents, this offers a mix of crushed rock and lavender, finishing with hint of smoky, toasty oak. Drink now through 2020. 201 cases made. –JL

Though DeLoach's Lake County Zinfandel-- a regular in the producer's line-up of prominent wines-- is a departure of form in its big boned nature, it is entirely in keeping with its sister wines in terms of balance. Fragrant and spicy, with a depth of blackberry fruit, the finish is long and satisfying. This is a fine food-pairing with wine. - VB

Vivid ruby-red. Oak-spiced aromas and flavors of blackberry, cherry-cola and mocha, with a smoky nuance gaining strength with air. Shows very good depth and breadth, with strong finishing punch and lingering vanilla and spicecake notes. On the flamboyant side and drinking very well right now.

This is an absolutely lovely Pinot Noir that's softly refined and balanced, yet so complex. It's silky and dry, with waves of raspberries and cherries, red currants, mocha, red licorice and sauteed wild mushrooms.

Zesty and ripe, but balanced by a solid core of acidity and tannins. Aromas of dried cherry and licorice open to briary plum, toasty sage and cracked pepper flavors.

Smooth and concentrated with a magnificent core of raspberry, wild berry, blackberry and pomegranate flavors that all come together perfectly on a spicy, lengthy finish; great value.

Deep, dark, rich and layered, with tiers of pure, focused blackberry, boysenberry and raspberry fruit, gaining depth and dimension on the finish. Drink now through 2022. 375 cases made.

Editor's Choice. Great acidity and minerality in this elegant young wine. Doesn’t show the rich concentration of De Loach’s single-vineyard Chards, but then again, it costs far less. It’s actually a good value for a try, minerally and complex Russian River Chardonnay. Don’t drink it too cold.

Tastes of perfectly ripened pineapple, pear, lime and peach flavors. On the structural side is fine acidity and a tangy minerality, like a lick of cold steel. Oak is here, notable but perfectly integrated. Give this Chard a little time in the glass to breathe. — S.H. (6/1/2012)

You’ll find plenty of fruit, in the way of ripe mangoes, peaches, green apples and limes, as well as a sweet coating of smoky oak. However, it’s elevated by brisk acidity and a stony, tangy minerality that must come from the soil of this cool-climate vineyard.

PINOT NOIR FINALIST. Excellent. Highly recommended.
