Estate Chardonnay Reviews

Score: 90 | June 1, 2021 | Wine Enthusiast

Made from biodynamic and organically grown grapes, this estate-grown appellation wine is balanced in green apple, high-tone acidity and Meyer lemon crispness. The finish teases a fleetingly butter-like richness. Virginie Boone

From the Boisset Collection, the 2018 Chardonnay Estate was made with certified organic and biodynamic grapes. The nose is open-knit with aromas of warm apple, toast, cheese rind and roasted almonds with savory undertones. The medium-bodied palate is rounded and gently creamy in the mouth, with a fresh, juicy entry that fleshes out into more savory tones on the long finish. -Erin Brooks

The 2015 Chardonnay Estate is intensely scented of lemon zest, yuzu, mandarin peel and freshly sliced apples with touches of crushed rocks, honeysuckle and baking bread. Medium to full-bodied, it has an understated minerally/savory personality in the mouth with a beautifully creamy texture and harmonious freshness, finishing long and chalky.

From the producer’s estate vineyard planted on the Olivet Bench, this sublimely textured white is perfumed, zesty and complex. It delights in voluptuous layers of pear and honey in equal measure, showing both sides of deliciousness, fresh and fruity.

The opulence of this Chard comes at least as much from the buttered toast and caramel notes of oak, as it does from the underlying pineapple and tropical fruit flavors. It’s a crowd pleaser. Drink now. —

A touch raw and pithy in texture, this offers a racy edge to its citrus, peach and nectarine flavors. Clean and snappy on the finish. Drink now through 2016. 41 cases made. –JL

Tastes of perfectly ripened pineapple, pear, lime and peach flavors. On the structural side is fine acidity and a tangy minerality, like a lick of cold steel. Oak is here, notable but perfectly integrated. Give this Chard a little time in the glass to breathe. — S.H. (6/1/2012)
