Jovita’s Selection Chardonnay Reviews

Score: 91 | December 15, 2018 | Wine Spectator

Concentrated citrus, green apple and nectarine flavors are framed by rich acidity. The crystalline finish is loaded with mineral and savory accents. Drink now through 2022.

The 2015 Chardonnay Jovita's Selection is a little mute at this youthful stage, providing glimpses at warm apple, peach kernel and beeswax scents plus a touch of pink grapefruit. Medium to full-bodied, it gives a great intensity of honeyed peach flavors, lifted with a racy line and finishing long and creamy

With a breath of matchstick on entry, this wine is ultimately juicy and gritty in texture, with a persistent backbeat of toasty oak. Ripe apple and papaya mix well to offer a tropical creaminess.

A briny note of saline and pickle provide an intrigue to the entry of this wine, which is otherwise integrated in oak and medium to full bodied. Smooth and floral, it sings on the palate, revealing baked apple and pear around a hint of wild vanilla and herb. —V.B.

Lots of toasty oak here and enough plump apricot and peach fruit to match it. This one is round, rich, and bright with acidity.
