Cola and vanilla cream soda aromatize the bright cherry and pomegranate core of this medium-bodied, fleshy wine. High-toned, but with a kick of wood-tannin, this is a great accompaniment to lighter proteins like grilled chicken.

An appealing wine that succeeds in an understated style, with nuanced flavors of light anise, plum, blackberry and tea.

A nutty undertow finds its way in this wine, which is marked by an earthiness of sage, clove and sous bois. Funky and desirable, it leans medium bodied in weight and tone, with an undeniable affront of blood orange and crisp red cherry. —V.B.

Although the wine is labeled a Vineyard Designate, it’s a blend of multimple vineyards. Dry, fairly full-bodied and tannic, it has complex cherry, currant, licorice and sandalwood flavors.

Round and full bodied, this is a lightly oaked, ripely flavored wine with good balance, and a long, lightly oaky finish. It tastes of plum, cherry, toast, rose petal, sage and raspberry.
