Bright and bracing, with the austerity of an ultracool climate, this opens with fresh, delicate aromas of lemon, apple, honey and florals, underpinned by toasty brioche nuances. The palate is pity and slippery, with vibrant lemony acidic notes and fine bubbles and the rounder, yeast-derived characters. balanced, dry and elegant, this should be terrifically food-friendly.

Give this time in the glass to open up. Once aerated, it offers a delicate perfume of peach, strawberry, cherry and cream, with a green herbal edge. The palage is dry and has tangy fruit, a lovely lift of piercing acidity and fine, long-lasting bubbles.

There is almost something of the sea breeze in this wine. An alluring iodine hint on the nose mixes with notions of green apple and the merest touch of rhubarb. The palate comes in with a smooth, fine mousse of tiny, creamy bubbles that counterpoint the inherent English briskness. Slender and elegant, the palate gears everything to a fresh finish of green apple and lemon purity that lingers. It's harmonious, refreshing and balanced.
