An integral part of Napa Valley history since 1881, Oakville Grocery remains a gathering place for friends to share the best in handcrafted, locally sourced food and wine and to experience what makes Napa and Sonoma Counties so special. Local wine from local people.
Ranging from 800- 1,200 feet in elevation in the Rockpile appellation, this vineyard has sweeping sun exposures from southeast to northwest and consists of different blocks of Zinfandel. Working with the different sun exposures, soil compositions, slopes and drainages is what makes our Rockpile Zinfandel so great.
The Mercantile Zinfandel from Rockpile opens with aromas of black cherry, plum, and violets. On the palate this is a full bodied wine layered with notes of fig, black currant, and baking spices with well integrated tannins and a long lingering finish.
