Pouilly-Fuissé

Pouilly-Fuissé bottle

Pouilly and Fuissé are the names of two Mâconnais villages located at the foot of the famous rocks of Solutré and Vergisson. The appellation’s vineyards cover a total area of 2,100 acres, spread across four villages and located on steep little east-southeast-facing bowls at altitudes of 820 to 984 feet.

  • Winemaking

100% of the wine is cask-matured (very little new wood is used – only 20%) with regular stirring of the lees while the two fermentations – alcoholic and malolactic – take place. This ageing ends after 12 months.

  • Nose

Highly characterized by notes of exotic fruits and white flowers, indicating excellent ripeness.

  • Palate

Rich and full of substance, it lines the palate without heaviness, supported by a judicious vivacity.
