Corton-Les Renardes Grand Cru

Corton-Les Renardes Grand Cru bottle

Composed of 25 different climats, the Grand Cru Corton is an emblematic figure of Burgundy. It extends over three villages: Aloxe-Corton, Ladoix-Serrigny and Pernand-Vergelesses. Each climate has its own personality. "Les Renardes" is located on the village of Aloxe-Corton. Exposed south / southeast, the plot is gently sloping on stony soils, slightly reddish. The vines are aged on average 45. "The Foxes" takes its name from the word Fox. This animal, lover of small game, is very present in Burgundy. The other hypothesis is that the parcel belonged to a family called Renard, a very common family name.

This is a first release from Jean-Claude Boisset, bottled early to preserve its freshness and perfume. Sourced from a parcel of 45-year-old vines and fermented with 50% whole bunches, it has earthy, forest floor aromas with notes of fresh tobacco and pepper spice. A tame and approachable Corton with fine, caressing tannins.
  • Winemaking

Aged on the lees for 12 months with no racking using a proportion of 40% new French oak barrels that had been toasted at low temperatures for a long time to impart a very delicate touch of oak to the wine.

  • Nose

A nose on the whole harvest, aromas of red fruits, fresh tobacco and pepper.

  • Palate

The mouth is on finesse and freshness, very soft tannins structure this wine. Very nice mineral finish.
