50% Chardonnay from Grand Cru vineyards in Montagne de Reims and 50% Pinot Noir from Megnil sur Oger 1er Cru Vinenayrds.
After initial separate fermentation, the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay were blended to highlight elegant flavors and subtle oak notes. Golden in color, the GALA presents with complex aromas of toasted oak and vanilla, which is followed by notes of figs and apricots, and eventually reveals notes of hazelnut. On the palate, this wine is lively and full bodied. It is well-balanced, and has a harmonious, elegant finish.
The Chardonnay is fermented once in second use Burgundy oak barrel, while the Pinot Noir is fermented in stainless steel. The dosage is 8g/L The 2008 growing season in Champagne started with some challenges, but a dry August and warm September resulted in an even, slow maturation of the grapes, leading to an excellent harvest!
