Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny bottle

Chambolle-Musigny, at the heart of the Côte de Nuits, has earned its place among the Grands Crus and the sun-drenched plots  Les Argillères is on an outstanding site, in mid-slope, with Musigny as its renowned neighbour; a fiery plot just a stone’s throw from Les Amoureuses. Our other plots in the Chambolle-Musigny appellation are Les Chardannes, close to Morey-Saint-Denis, Les Condemennes adjacent to the Premier Cru Les Charmes, and Les Véroilles which borders on the Grand Cru, Les Bonnes Mares and les Baudes, 1er Cru climat located below Bonnes Mares.

The 2014 Chambolle-Musigny Village includes two new vineyards compared to last year from Les Gruenchers and les Fremiets. It has an attractive bouquet, nicely detailed with wilted rose petals infusing the red berry fruit. The palate is fresh and attractive with crisp, red cherry and strawberry fruit, the 40% new oak a little conspicuous towards the finish, though I think that will be assimilated with 2-3 years in bottle.
  • Winemaking

Aged for 16 months in oak barrels (38% new oak).

  • Nose

Dark cherry, plum and spice notes.

  • Palate

Good richness to the relatively full-bodied and mouth coating flavors that exude a fine bead of mineral notes on the delicious, balanced and solidly persistent finish.
