Bride Valley, Brut Reserve

Bride Valley, Brut Reserve bottle

The wonderful silver pallor and delicate but
persistent bubbles give this wine an instant
appeal in the glass. The bouquet is rich in
white flowers and white summer fruits,
such as pear and peach but with classically
English undertones of elderflower and green
apples. On the palate, the wine is vivacious
but wonderfully subtle, with a minerality and
freshness on the finish that will remain while it
fills out in bottle over the next 24 months.

BRIDE VALLEY – BRUT RESERVE 2014 is the
perfect light aperitif, and beautifully displays
the delicate cool climate qualities of English
sparkling wine. Equally, the ripe fruit resulting
from this very warm year give it a full-bodied
quality that make it perfect with salad,
seafood, fish, or even chicken.

There is almost something of the sea breeze in this wine. An alluring iodine hint on the nose mixes with notions of green apple and the merest touch of rhubarb. The palate comes in with a smooth, fine mousse of tiny, creamy bubbles that counterpoint the inherent English briskness. Slender and elegant, the palate gears everything to a fresh finish of green apple and lemon purity that lingers. It's harmonious, refreshing and balanced.
