The Chartreuse de Bonpas is a fortified convent from the 12th century erected on a historical crossing point of the Durance River, at one time named Bonpas (Bon, or good Passage) and given by the Pope. A visit to the Chartreuse de Bonpas includes a tour of the magnificent site including the main courtyard, the 12th century chapel, the French-style gardens, and a tasting of Bonpas' Rhône Valley wines in the cellar.
