1881 Napa Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon

1881 Napa Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon bottle

Dark plum and black cherry aromas present in this Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon. Flavors of black currant and fresh raspberry are complemented by notes of vanilla and a touch of nutmeg and candied violets. This is a big and bold wine with balanced tannins and a finish that coats the palate.
Established in 1992, Atlas Peak is situated on the Vaca Mountain Range which separates Napa Valley from the Sacramento Valley to the east. With elevations ranging from 760 to 2600 feet, the temperatures average about 10 – 15 degrees cooler than the valley floor in the summer and rarely rise above 100˚F. Above the fog line, the day-to-night temperature swing is minimal. There are 1609 acres of grapes planted in reddish-colored volcanic soils with limited water retention in the Atlas Peak AVA.

Chocolaty mocha richness dominates alongside cherry vanilla and toasted oak in this soft, approachable crowd-pleaser. Aged in American oak, it retains a supple sweetness through the finish. -VIRGINIE BOONE
