Les Grandes Mises, Morgon les Charmes Reviews

Score: 92 | March 27, 2018 | Vinous/Antonio Galloni

Vivid ruby. Cherry pit, cassis, candied flowers and licorice on the powerfully scented nose. Offers densely packed dark fruit and spicecake flavors that are braced by a spine of juicy acidity and sharpened by a jolt of white pepper. Concentrated yet lively as well, showing excellent delineation, chewy tannins and a very long, floral-accented finish.

Score: 90 | December 1, 2017 | Vinous/Antonio Galloni

(made with destemmed fruit) Lurid ruby. Mineral-laced black raspberry and licorice aromas are lifted by peppery spice and floral notes. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering appealingly sweet dark berry flavors that tighten up slowly with air. Fresh and fruit-driven, finishing with spicy thrust and supple tannins.

Cellar Selection. A powerful core of wood aging makes this a dry, solid wine that has excellent aging potential. Black cherries and spice contrast with the rich structure. From one of the top sectors of Morgon, the wine will be best drunk from 2019.
