Fleur de Lyeth

Fleur de Lyeth bottle

Lyeth was one of the first wineries in California to pursue the unique complexity and composition achieved by the marriage of Cabernet Sauvignon with the other major Bordeaux varieties, now known as the Meritage style. Lyeth became a founding member of the Meritage Association in 1988, helping to define Meritage wines. The term "Meritage" (pronounced like "heritage") is a combination of the words "merit" and "heritage". Today Lyeth continues the tradition of blending family and tradition in its wines.

The first California red wine blend in Lyeth’s history, Fleur de Lyeth remains true to Lyeth’s roots of exceptional blends with consistently high quality at a tremendous value. This wine is a proprietary blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and other Bordeaux varietals and is crafted in the noble winemaking tradition of unifying the best characteristics of multiple grape varieties to produce a harmonious wine with balanced complexity.

This is a good price for a Cab so rich and supple. It’s very deep in flavor, with flavors of blackberry pie filling, milk chocolate, anise and sweet oak, yet it’s softly balanced and dry. Just delicious for drinking now.
  • Nose

Opening with luscious flavors of Bing cherry and plum with a touch of strawberry and blueberry, the wine is perfectly balanced by a subtle oak backdrop.

  • Palate

With a medium body, round tannins and a clean finish, Fleur de Lyeth pairs perfectly with grilled meats or red sauce pastas.
